Early access for researchers

Applications for our December data release are now open

Applications are open to access our new data for December 2025

We're offering registered researchers the chance to apply early to access our new data release, which includes

  • imputed genotype data
  • participant geographies
  • medicine dispensed in primary care

The earlier you apply, the earlier the Access team will review your application.

The new data will become available by 11 December 2025.

How to apply

To apply to use the new data in a new study, log into the researcher portal and begin a new study application.

To request to add the new data to an existing study, email a completed Study Amendment Form to access@ourfuturehealth.org.uk.

About the data

Imputed data

We're expanding the depth of our genetic data by releasing an imputed set of 550,000 participants that increases the number of variants from 700k to 159 million. This means a higher resolution for researchers without the computation effort of whole genome sequencing.

The same participants in the imputed set will be in the SNP set, making it possible for researchers to create quality control products.

If you already have access to the existing genotype data, you'll get access to the imputed data automatically.

Participant geographies data

Last release, we shared data on participants' country and region at the point of registration for the first time.

We're now extending this data set, with the introduction of more granular location variables such as

  • Lower Super Output Area (LSOA): 1,813,223 participants
  • Middle Super Output Area (MSOA): 1,813,223 participants
  • Intermediate Zones: 28,235 participants

This will further help researchers understand health outcomes by location and the associated factors.

Medicine dispensed in primary care

Making data available on medicines dispensed (not just prescribed) will help researchers studying drug effects on health outcomes.
